"God's compassionate grace extends beyond the covenant nation
of Israel to reach the entire world, as His covenant
with Abraham promised."
I love the significance of this concept because it shows the all-encompassing love of God; and how it surpasses the nature of man. We can be selfish as humans, and many times we take our belief systems and make them “Ours”. Nations will claim their religious views are meant for them alone, that they are the only ones selected to reap the benefits of their god, and so on. Not our God, because he made the provisions for all who would listen and accept his truth to be saved.
It is His nature to love, and it is elegantly proven with this concept of adoption. The scripture tells us we have been grafted into the olive tree (Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree;), that we have been joined in heir-hood with Christ through adoption (Ephesians 1:5-11 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will…In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:), first to the Jews and then to the gentiles (Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.).
God always intended to love all of his creation, and what a wonderful father he is to have kept that wonderful covenant promise.
